The last shift reverted me to a child. At that age, my memory had not been...lost, or tampered with, so I had them for those few days. Now that I am grown again, they are gone.
I did lose some memories when I was in my home world, but it was triggered by an event I caused. I'm afraid I don't have much experience with tampered memories, but mine eventually came back on their own.
But if you really want those memories back, perhaps you could talk to the Malnosso. Have you heard of the rewards they sometimes give for volunteering for mission and experiments? Not sure they can return memories like that, but they might.
Hm. On their own? How long did this take? [(And yea, he's fairly sure he's in the "tampered memories" department, but you never know what might help.)]
The Malnosso? They are our tormentors, stranger. It is insane to ask something of them, as though they are reasonable or benign. As though they would not take advantage of any request we might have.

It is true that they are our tormentors and to take offers from them can be risky. However, I have heard that at times they can be reasonable. If it is something you very desperately want they might be worth going to. Just know you may be tricked in the long run. If it is something that can wait or be left alone then I am not sure I would advise going to them.
